Our Lady of Lourdes, or Our Lady of Lourdes, is venerated by the
Catholic Church
after the
apparitions
of
1858
had by the shepherdess
Bernadette Soubirous
France. The little girl recounted hearing the following words from the Virgin: “I am the Immaculate Conception.”

Around the grotto, the site of the apparitions, worship has expanded enormously, giving rise to a major flow of
pilgrims
and the construction of an imposing shrine. In fact, it is estimated that the number of people who have visited the Lourdes Shrine is over seven hundred million.

Our Lady of Lourdes is celebrated on Feb. 11, in conjunction with the
World Day of the Sick.

Prima Bottega pays tribute to the Lady of Lourdes with a Fresco hood depicting her in the iconic white robe, surrounded by roses and the phrase, in gold lettering, with which she introduced herself to little Bernadette.
